Terry
Gardner, Captain X
Captain
X Terry Gardner was a founding member of the Krewe des
Ambassadeurs. In the Fall of 2001 – he had the idea for a
Mardi Gras party – and, now, here we are 10 years later.
Terry has been very active in the Krewe, first serving as
Captain I and II. He has chaired or participated on all
Krewe committees, served on the Board of Directors and
Executive Board, and was honored to be chosen as King V. And
as a member of the NW Louisiana Mardi Gras Community, he
served on the Board of the Ark-La-Tex Mardi Gras Museum.
Captain
Terry is very involved in the community serving on various
boards including Minden South Webster Chamber of Commerce.
He is currently a Board Member of the Statewide Louisiana
March of Dimes serving as Revenue Chair. He is also Chairman
of the Board of the Northwest Louisiana March of Dimes.
Terry’s
motto is “Everyone Deserves a Second Chance in Life”.
As
President and CEO of TG Companies LLC, Terry has had the
opportunity to give many young men and women an opportunity
to grow and mature with the company regardless of personal
challenges. He believes everyone has a place in life and he
does everything he can to guide them in the right
direction.
He is
also Managing Partner of Orleans on Main and President and
CEO of The Gardner Group.
Captain
Terry was born in Shreveport but has lived in Minden since
1978 and considers this his home. He is married to the
former Debbie Walker; he has one son, Harold, and three
chosen sons, Donnie, Josh and Jodie. He is a member of
First Baptist – Minden.
King X
Dan Hubbard
King
Dan Hubbard grew up in Bossier City, the son of David and
Mary Tolbert. Dan is a graduate of Parkway High School and
he graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a degree in
Psychology. He is the Administrator of Meadowview Health and
Rehab in Minden and has been with them since August 2008.
His goal as Administrator is to provide the best care to the
senior population, create a homelike environment for his
nursing home, and build community relationships with the
town of Minden.
King Dan and his lovely wife, Stefanie, live in Haughton and
with their four children: Arielle Walton, age 18,who is a
freshman at LSU, Zachary Walton, age 15, Jordan Hubbard,
age 14, and Daniel Hubbard, age 12.
Dan has been a member of the Minden Lions Club since
November of 2008. Dan became a member of the Louisiana
Amateur Golf Tour in 2009 and that membership has provided
him the opportunity to play golf on courses such as Robert
Trent Jones in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Dan placed in
the top 20 for the nation in the Amateur Golf Tour for the
year of 2009, and Dan placed in the top five, in the season
long point race for the Louisiana Amateur Golf Tour, for the
past two years.
The school and extracurricular activities of their four
children keep them busy, but in their spare time they enjoy
traveling (to play golf). Dan's other interest include
riding motorcycles with his wife, drinking red wine, playing
scrabble , running for exercise, and spending time with his
family and friends.
Queen X
Sarah Haynes
Sarah,
a native of Springhill, has been married to Gary Haynes for
26 years. They have 2 children, Walker, 22, and Princess VII
Whittney, 20. She is the daughter of Wayne and Peggy
Modisette and her 2nd mother is Freddie Louise
Haynes.
Sarah
graduated from Springhill High School and has lived in
Minden for the past 26 years.
Sarah
has been the Director of Business Development of Minden
Medical Center for 24 yrs and has been a member of the Krewe
for 4 years. She is involved with the Webster Parish Council
on Aging – fund raising for new center, on the Board of
Minden South Webster Chamber of Commerce and Membership
Chairman; and a Member of the Board for the Webster Parish
LSU Alumni Association and was Duchess of Hospitality IX.
Sarah enjoys traveling to LSU ball games – any sport,
spending time with family, Scrapbooking, and LOVES event
planning.
Sarah
also says “If you know me you know I love to shop…..any
where any time.”
Duke of Prosperity X Paul F. Lopez
Our
Duke of Prosperity X Paul grew up in Houston, TX and has
lived in Ruston for the past 12 years. He and his wife,
Kim, have been married for 20 years and have two daughters,
Reghan, age 17 and Kendall, age 14. Paul is a graduate of
Texas A&M University (B.B.A.) and Louisiana Tech University
(M.B.A.) and is currently employed by Patriot Proppants in
Sibley.
Paul is actively involved in his daughters’ high school
activities and is affectionately known as “Cheer Dad”. He
serves as the Treasurer of the Ruston High School Pepette
Booster Club and is a Past President of the A.E. Phillips
Parent Faculty Council. He has also been involved with
Leadership Lincoln, American Cancer Society – Relay for Life
and HISD Hispanic Mentoring program.
He enjoys watching college football and just hanging out
with friends and family.
Duchess
of Prosperity X Catherine Hunt
Catherine
grew up in Shreveport but has called Minden home for the
past 30 years. Catherine has been
married to Brent Hunt for 13 ½ years and together they have
4 children, Freddie, Joshua, Megan and Justin. She
is the daughter of the late Mack and Viola “Peewee” Charping.
After graduation, she attended Northwest Louisiana Technical
College with a focus in accounting and office
administration.
Currently, she is the proud owner of South Beach Tanning &
Tuxedos which she opened in 2005. Catherine is actively
involved with the Youth Challenge Program at Camp Minden and
the MSWCOC.
She is a graduate of Leadership Webster, a member of the
Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the Chamber
Board and served as the 2009 Co-Chair and the 2010 Chair for
the Chambers Annual Membership Banquet.
Catherine has been a member of the Krewe for many years.
She has served on the Bal’, Float, Coronation, and Cochon de
Lait committee. She served as the Philanthropy Chair for 3
years and Chaired the Coronation in 2007. Their son Joshua
was the Krewe’s first Prince in 2002.
They have 3 grandchildren, Evan, Baylee, and Ainsley.
Catherine enjoys spending time with Brent, family functions,
watching her beloved grandbabies and loves the special time
spent with her sista’s in “THE B.C.”; nothing but food, fun
and tons of laughter with this group of women. I love you
girls!!!
Duke of Hospitality X Tim Borst
Our
Duke of Hospitality Tim Borst lives in Haughton and has been
married to his bride Beverly for 25 years. Together they
have three Children: Leslie Raley, age 28, who is married to
Byran, Ryan Borst, age 20, and Madison Borst, age 16. Leslie
and Bryan have a daughter, Karli, who is 6 years old.
Tim is the son of Ron and Lois Borst. He grew up mainly in
Bossier City and went to Airline High School for his
freshman year but since his dad was in the Air Force he
attended school in Portsmouth, New Hampshire for his
sophomore and junior years in high school. They returned to
Bossier City for Tim’s senior year in high school. He went
on to receive his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from LSU
of Shreveport.
Tim is a CPA and a partner with the Shreveport firm Cole,
Evans & Peterson.
He has been a member of the Krewe des Ambassadeurs for 5
years. In his spare time, Tim likes to read, be with his
family and travel.
Tim is an avid LSU fan and loves to watch LSU football and
baseball! He also enjoys attending Louisiana Tech football
and basketball games since two of his children are going to
Tech and his son is in the Louisiana Tech Band of Pride.
Duchess of Hospitality X Lynn Brown
Duchess
of Hospitality Lynn Brown is happily married to her husband
of 4 years, Brandon Brown, of Weldon, LA. They have one
beautiful daughter, 2-year-old Braylin Sage and currently
reside in Haynesville, LA.
She was raised in Homer, LA, and spent her teenage years
cheering and playing softball for the FIGHTING PELICANS at
Homer High School until graduation in 2002. After high
school, Lynn attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe,
majored in Radiologic Technology, and graduated with honors
in 2006.
She is employed at E.A. Conway Medical Center in Monroe, LA
as an x-ray and MRI tech. For the past 2 years, Lynn has
been studying for her MRI registry, which she recently took
in January and PASSED.
Lynn’s favorite hobby is mud riding on their 2010 Polaris
Razor. She also enjoys many outdoor activities such as, bow
& rifle hunting, fishing, and shooting skeet. Her family is
the most important thing in her life and she spends as much
time with them as possible.
Finally, Lynn would like to give a big thanks to her Mother,
Karen Ruple, “for all the support, dedication, and
assistance.” To Terry & Tammie Walker for helping make her
beautiful back piece, to various Krewe members for help
and support, and to all her guests for attending this event
and sharing this experience with her.
