The Krewe des
Ambassadeurs meets the fourth Thursday of each month at our
Den Headquarters. We use this time to meet together to
discuss plans for the upcoming season as well as ways to
support our areas of philanthropy. There are numerous
opportunities for new members to be involved with our Krewe,
such as serving on committees focused on Special Events,
Beads & Throws, Building & Grounds, Philanthropy, Grand
Bal', Float, Membership, Publicity, and Fundraising.
Our Krewe is
actively involved throughout the year in various activities.
Along with our monthly meetings, our season kicks off in the
spring with a golf tournament, which is a major fundraiser
for our Krewe. This event is followed by a Cochon de
Lait in early summer where we recruit new members, and we
announce our theme for the upcoming Mardi Gras season.
The Coronation
for incoming Royalty will be held August 20th, 2011 at the
Red River Room at Louisiana Downs in Bossier City, Louisiana.
A part of this
ceremony is the silent auction. During
the summer, we plan at least one weekend trip to New Orleans
where we can purchase beads that will be thrown during the
parades. Our annual Christmas Party gives us one
more opportunity to meet together before the Mardi Gras
Season officially kicks off in January. During January,
February, and March, there are many Bal's and Parades hosted
by all of the area Krewes in Minden, Springhill, Shreveport,
and Bossier City.
Our next Krewe des Ambassadeurs' Grand Bal'
will be January 20th, 2012 at the Horseshoe Riverdome in
Shreveport, Louisiana. Our 15th Annual Minden Mardi Gras Parade
will be held in Minden, and it usually falls on the third
Saturday prior to Fat Tuesday unless it conflicts with the
St. Jude Telethon.
As you can tell, the
Krewe des Ambassadeurs are actively involved throughout the
year--joining our Krewe would be an adventure! If you
